The Funky Zone

The Funky Zone is open every day from 11am – 6pm

Along with events outlined in the itinerary, you will also find Europe’s Largest Mega Slide, Scarecrow Maze, Chair Planes, Tots Merry Go-round, Scarecrow Maze,
Sandpit Play Area, Kids Games including Target Practice and Paint Me, Food, Durrow & District Pipe Band, Lego, Picnic Area, & lots of Games

Good to know!

  1. Duration: The festival takes place over nine days, from Sunday 28th July to Monday 5th August.
  2. Opening Hours: The Scarecrow Village is open every day from 11.00am to 6.30pm, except for Monday 29th July to Friday 2nd August when it opens at 2.00pm.
    The FunKy Zone opens from 11am every day.
  3. Bank Holiday Monday: On Monday 5th August, the festival closes at 6.00pm instead of 6.30pm. 
  4. Activities in Scarecrow Village: The Scarecrow Village offers various activities such as workshops, live music performances, puppet shows by Julie Rose, historical reenactments, and lots more. 
  5. Admission: The admission prices for Scarecrow Village are €6 for adults and €1 for kids. 
  6. FunKy Zone: There is also a FunKy Zone with attractions like Europe’s Biggest Mega Slide, Multi Slide, Scarecrow Maze, Lego, Chair planes and lots more. Admission: Adults €4 – Children €1
  7. Dunmore Country School: The festival includes a family stroll in the kitchen garden of Dunmore Country School, where visitors can learn about growing food. This activity requires pre-booking.
  8. Other Events: Lots of additional events like Grand Slam Wrestling at Castle Arms Hotel, Ladies Night at Castle Durrow, and a photographic exhibition by Annie Holland.
  9. Workshops: There are various workshops available, including cookie workshops, slime workshops, fairy door workshops, and coding workshops. Some workshops require pre-booking.
  10. Live Music: Throughout the festival, there are live music performances by artists such as Des Hopkins Dixieland Jazz Band, Brinda Irani, Brian & Figgs, Drops of Green, Sweet Freedom and The Finns.
  11. Carnival Games and Entertainment: In the Scarecrow Village, there are also activities like bouncy castles, glitter art, face painting, Clayotic, sand art, and pick & paint.
