Full Circle is based in Cork City, but will join us on Tuesday 26th July at 2pm, for the ever popular Drumming Workshop!
Full Circle was founded by community based percussionist Patrick Naughton, in response to people’s desire to drum. Patrick is an experienced player and workshop facilitator, fusing West African and world rhythms on the djembe (indigenous drum to West Africa) and various other percussion instruments, such as darabuka, dun dun (bass drum), shaker, and a variety of African bells.
The Drum Circle is a place where we can gather in a safe, non-competitive space, to explore our connection to rhythm and sound. It provides an opportunity to meet new people and have fun.
Teaching through song, story and rhythm we connect to ourselves, our community and a deeper sense of place.
Benefits of Drumming
Since the beginning of time people have gathered together in circles celebrating life. The drum, one of the primary tools found in all cultures, has been used for many purposes.
The benefits of drumming are multi-fold! It creates a powerful sense of unity and focus for a group, leaving you relaxed and more receptive!
Simple rhythms and repetition develops our sense of timing and awakens our creative side.
Groups can vary in size, gender, age and background. People of all diversities come together to a common beat!
